Hi, I’m a creator

Spring forward not just an hour but... 10 years!?!?

Published about 2 months ago • 4 min read

"Where do you see yourself in 10 years?"

Within the first couple of lessons with a new student, we're digging in deep on this question. It's a catalyst for clarity, action and direction!

But... nearly 100% of the time, the answer is "I want to play in an orchestra or ensemble, and teach and maybe play chamber music on the side." It hardly ever varies. It's like someone wrote a script and they follow it to a "T" - every time.

Why is this answer problematic? ⬇️

Hello there.

This is Ixi, creator of Music360. I'm so happy to welcome the new faces in our community, thank you for joining us! Whether you came aboard to "spark" your career, or are curious about new directions for creating new paths, you're in a place where we look at the 360-degree totality of YOU to forge possibilities!

(Here's how you spark your career! Click).

For our newbies and those who've been around a while, here's a little peek into what Music360 is about, and the answer to the question posed above! 🔎

⬇️

It's not that an "establishment" path isn't a great goal (I mean, look at me) but it's that these are the only paths you THINK you can/ should take. 👣 And we're not even talking about the path of the "soloist", which is another story.

You see, as a teacher, I got tired of seeing students graduate without a concrete way to make a life as a musician (in the myriad ways that are possible). I believe that with a core of career wellness skills, a solid foundation can be laid to support paths that acknowledges all your skills, talents, curiosities, and passions.

Enter Music360.

It's about your 360. The whole of this fantastic multi-faceted YOU. The you with which you build a life in music.

(What does a happy life in music look like? Click here).

Along with a team of wonderful teachers, facilitators, and guest experts in the field, here's what 360 is all about. It's about:

1. The layers of who you are is essential to your evolution as a musician. Our work is focused on YOUR possibilities through a holistic exploration of who you are.

2. Programs that bridge the gap between school and real life. We sell training programs, lessons, group and individual coaching, consultations, services and design work. You will walk away putting lessons into immediate action

3. Having your back. When you find yourself in "resistance", or can't shake those voices of hesitation, fear or insecurity, we will guide you back to your process, your focus, your creativity and always bring you back to trusting your work! You sign up with a business that truly cares about you and your dreams.

4. The commitment to creating the best content for performing artists! From free resources on our website, to insights, conversations and support in our community, and tips and strategies on social media and in emails, we want to share our experience and knowledge.

Thank you for being part of this community. ❤️

Cheering you on,

Ixi & Team 360

If you want to make observations or take notes, we've provided a handy weekly tracker for you to do just that, and reprint if you want to continue the practice. We're...

Welcome! Dear Reader, Good morning Reader, Welcome to day 1, lesson 1! We're kicking things off with a the most vital of essential life-supporting forces, your breath. It's central to how we feel, and it's fascinating to know that it's both involuntary and voluntary! We do it when we don't think about it, and yet, we can control it when we want to. And, as musicians, our breath plays a central role in how we feel during practice and performance. And, if you're a wind player or singer, your...
